Masa was perfect!! My tamales were perfect. Definitely recommend. Will be returning next year for sure! I went first thing in the morning, no waiting.
I have been buying my masa for tamales for 40 years and it's always been delicious but this year we had problems with. I called the store a man who answered the phone said he was the manager, told him I'd been going there for 40 yrs he laughed at me and said they haven't been there for 40 years, well he needs to needs to check with his grandparents because Nancy's was opened in 1979!! The reason the masa so so mushy was because they've cut back on the lard (his words not mine) so my daughter took it back the added additional lard and it was a lot better so thank you. Just didn't appreciate being laughed at when I knew how long I'd been going there.
This looks like a family run store. It is very much for me like going to the Mexican store in East Los Angeles. I am from South San Gabriel originally. Coming to Phillips Ranch was difficult to drive every year to get my masa for our tamales. My brother in-law lives near there so I figured I try it. I am not a Spanish speaking Mexican/American.
Got masa from here...regular, strawberry and pina...Fire Ill for sure be back next year for more masa.
I just want to say i am so thankful I didn't drive to Los Angeles for my masa. I was scrambling around for our Girl Scout tamale party and I found this place on yelp. I have to say this is by far the greatest place to buy your masa. The customer service was also amazing they gave a tops and pointers. Thank you Nancy's this will be my go-to place and we let everyone know about your business.
